Dried Okra Recipe

Dried Okra and Onion (Bhindi)

What you need

  1. Oil 1 cup
  2. Dried Okra 100 gm
  3. Dried Onions 75 gm
  4. Chopped Tomatoes 2
  5. Salt To Taste
  6. Green Chilies 2
  7. Turmeric Powder ½ tea spoon
  8. Garlic Paste 1 teaspoon
  9. Red Chili Powder ½ teaspoon


  1. Soak dried okra in lukewarm water for at least 45 minutes. Drain water.
  2. Fry dry okra on low heat.
  3. In a separate fry pan add oil, dried onions, garlic paste, tomatoes, spices and stir it well.
  4. Then add okra and leave it on low heat.
  5. Stir occasionally until cooked.

Cooking Tip

Fry okra on moderately high heat as it cooks quickly.
Dried onions should be fried on very low heat.
